"I'll
take the LOG on the Internet!!"
Communications
is the lifeline of every successful organization. Today’s
communications take so many forms it is difficult to keep track
of all of them. There is the standard telephone, both cell and
landline, and “snail mail” which travels by way
of the postal service. But, the most efficient means available
to virtually everyone today are the electronic forms, such as
e-mail, web sites, chat, Instant Messaging (IM), and the newest
concoction, BLOGS. All are readily available, and, with a little
practice, easy to use.
Buzzards
Bay Sail and Power Squadron needs to be timely and accurate
in communicating to its membership about upcoming social events,
education offerings, changes to plans, topical boating articles,
and other messages of general interest. Not only are the electronic
tools more efficient, they also save money, which, in turn,
keeps membership fees and offerings down to the lowest possible
cost.
All
this is a long way of asking you to send us your e-mail
address so we can communicate with you in the most
efficient manner possible. Be assured we will not be giving
your e-mail information to anyone else, and it will be used
solely for the purpose of communicating BBSPS information. The
closest we’ll come to marketing will be to point you to
our swap shop of boating items.
Please
send your e-mail address to me at hborman@comcast.net
so we can add it to our local BBSPS database. If you change
your mind later, just send me a note and I’ll remove
your e-mail address from the database. The squadron is giving
consideration to adding e-mail addresses to the roster in
the future to facilitate communications among members. You
will read more about this in future LOGs and e-mails.
Thanks
in advance for making our job of communicating with all of you
just a little bit easier… and a lot less expensive!
